Florida Red Bellied Turtle

Florida Red Bellied Turtles are brightly colored as juveniles, they make excellent starter and fine community tank members. This species tames quickly, loves to bask and will pile on top of other turtles if necessary, to get a good spot on a log. They are great for keepers just starting out, they are very active both above and below the water surface; and once set up properly require very little – except your viewing enjoyment.

Mostly herbivores, Florida Red Bellies will take romaine and other lettuces, and pellets. Juveniles will eat some insects if offered. They get along with nearly all other turtle species, and can even share their tanks with fish.
